Flying Bytes

Flying Bytes is a partnership with a FedEx captain focused on improving the daily workflow of FedEx pilots across the world. We built the platform end-to-end — from the operational tooling that pilots use in the cockpit and on the ground, to the back-office systems that keep the company running.

The result is a workflow product designed by a pilot, for pilots: trip planning, scheduling, document handling, and crew communications, all tuned to the realities of long-haul cargo operations.

Under the hood, the hot paths are written in Rust for serious performance gains where latency matters — ingest, scheduling math, and document processing all stay snappy even under load. Data lives in Postgres for reliability and rich query support, and everything runs on AWS so the platform scales with Flying Bytes as the user base grows.
